Visited with a second grade classroom last Thursday for my program "National Education Week" to raise awareness of literacy and the importance of reading! There was a school supplies drive and book drive and Wednesday night we made letters for the second graders. Thursday I delivered all these items to the classroom, boy were they EXCITED!!! They each received a notebook, several books were donated, as well as many other items the teacher could use for their class. While I was there, I brought a very special book with me that my third grade teacher gave me for my senior graduation present, the Dr. Seuss book "Oh the Places You'll Go", the teacher read the special note that my teacher had wrote in my book to the class and they really enjoyed it. After we read part of the book, I passed out the letters to the students and they were so happy and excited to receive a letter with their name on it, they asked how I knew each of their names, I said it was simply magic! LOL!!! They were all so sweet but the best thing happended while I was there. The teacher asked students what do you know about college or what do you think Elizabeth is in college for? A first grade girl responded "To get a boyfriend"... Haha that had to have been the funniest answer I have ever heard. Definitely made my day! This was a very warming and memorable experience that I will always remember. These students were very special and can use all the help and advice from role models they can receive to guide them in the right direction.
It's in God's hands!

City That Never Sleeps NYC!
Wow! What can I say I just got back from an AMAZING time in New York City!! I absolutely love the city life and enjoyed every minute there. The shopping, fashion, sight-seeing, food, and the feeling of living life on the edge are what makes NYC so unique and such an awesome place to be. We visited Steps on Broadway, the dance girls took a class with a Hip Hop instructor. After some intense dance, we made it just in time to watch the magnificent Radio City Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular, it was most definitely the best part of the trip! All this dancing this weekend, made me really miss it A Lot!! We got a lot of exercise walking all day and made a stop in China Town. We ended our day in Times Square unfortunately Hard Rock and Bubba Gumps were all packed, so we called it a night after we ate at a small but very good New York Pizza place! I had such a great time this weekend with my mom, family, and friends. I absolutely love New York and let's just say I can't wait to see what the future holds!! So blessed to have made it there and back safely!
